Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

I got this one from two of my best friends. It has been on my wishlist for so long. Mainly because of the mixed review, how people claimed that the main characters are fucked up and the amount of violence the book should include. I was so excited to read it, I mean. The book definetely was not as expected. There wasn't much violence (at least not to the expected degree), nor was the characters fucked up.

Anyhow, even though it wasn't as expected, I liked it. Well, I more than liked. I didn't put the book down and had read in less than a day. Wuhu. Abby and Travis are both very round and deep. Once you think you know what they'll do, they do something different. I quite like that.

Also, the rest of the characters were to my liking. I loved America, since she's very strong. I loved how America's relationship fit into the story. Jamie McGuire managed to include them in a way that made them a necessary part of the story.

FINALLY A GUY WITH TATTOOS. I LOVE TATTOOS. This was my first thought when reading it. Travis is, the way I imagined him exactly my cup of tea. Maybe that's another reason I love the story so much.

The plot was good. It's one of those where the bad boy gets saved by a girl who's oh so different. As mentioned, not much violence was going on. At least not the kind I had thought. He wasn't violent towards Abby, which was the idea I had gotten.

I was however a bit disapointed with the end. I had hoped Abby wouldn't have been as spontanous as she was. But that's just me.

All in all, if you like bad boy gets saved stories, then PICK this up.

I am going back to drooling over Travis.
See you all soon.

'Need', 'Captivate' & Entice by Carrie Jones

Hi m' dear

I read the first three books in the 'Need' series by Carrie Jones and thought I'd do a little review.

I really have to show you the covers, because if I could fall in love with book covers, I'd make sure it would be one of these (or any of the 1000 other book covers I love. But shhh, don't tell anyone.)

Okay, First thing. These were a fun read, but not much more. I don't regret reading them at all, I mean look at the cover. Anyway, I loved Is (or Izzie, or something along the line) I liked Dev and Astley. I kind of liked and kind of did not like Nick and Zara - which is a bit stupid since they are the main characters. Oh, and Betty, she was lovely as well.
Let's get back to Zara and Nick. I liked how there affection towards each other grew in Need, which is the first book, but hated it in book number two (captivate) and three (entice). The whole "I love you, babe" and "baby" thing really drives me into insanity. I mean, come on. You are too young and know each other too little to say that. Really, it just drives me crazy. But I might just be a tad too old school :p
The plot was wierd, but I did enjoy it. So it was wierd in a good way.
The Pixie thing was new (for me) and the Valhalla thing in book two and three was, yeah I don't know, random. I can't find a conection between these two things, but it doesn't matter, and I might just lack a bit of knowledge.

I liked reading them and will definetly pick up book number four. So check it out for a good and fast read.

Have a lovely day

Book Review: Love Story - Jennifer Echols

The Back of the book says this:

She’s writing about him. he’s writing about her. And everybody is reading between the lines.. For Erin Blackwell, majoring in creative writing at the New York City college of her dreams is more than a chance to fulfill her ambitions—it’s her ticket away from the tragic memories that shadow her family’s racehorse farm in Kentucky. But when she refuses to major in business and take over the farm herself someday, her grandmother gives Erin’s college tuition and promised inheritance to their maddeningly handsome stable boy, Hunter Allen. Now Erin has to win an internship and work late nights at a coffee shop to make her own dreams a reality. She should despise Hunter … so why does he sneak into her thoughts as the hero of her latest writing assignment? Then, on the day she’s sharing that assignment with her class, Hunter walks in. He’s joining her class. And after he reads about himself in her story, her private fantasies about him must be painfully clear. She only hopes to persuade him not to reveal her secret to everyone else. But Hunter devises his own creative revenge, writing sexy stories that drive the whole class wild with curiosity and fill Erin’s heart with longing. Now she’s not just imagining what might have been. She’s writing a whole new ending for her romance with Hunter … except this story could come true.

This book caught me from page one, it is beautifully written and the story is catching. Though, It’s still a young adult love story kind of book. But the fact that this one does not play in a high school but in a college gave it a little twist. (yeah, most book I pick up play in high school).
Jennifer Echols is one of my favourite Authors, and this book is her best in my opinion.
I will  leave the story untold - you can get an idea in the text above, it’s taken from the back of the book - and just hope that you pick it up and give it a go.

I am sure you will love it if you like YA normally.

No friend is as loyal as a book...
