I wish I had known about Pinterest before I moved into my apartment and spent all my money on decoration, furniture, etc. I would have been able to decorate way cheaper (and prettier) if I had stumbled upon it before. Anyhow, I love browsing through pinterest and finding new DIY's I love and see myself making and as I am about to plan my room and my sister's room at my parents, on a VERY tight budget, DIY's come in handy. They are also fun, and add some personal touch to your room, when buying almost everything in Ikea. (Ikea is pretty much the only place to buy cheap furniture in denmark)
Here are some of the things I am considering to add in either of the rooms.
These were found on house of fifty and I love them. Add toys to a wood blocks and paint them. Voila, you have fun book ends. The best, you can take whatever toy you want. Do you fancy cows, cats, horses? The sky is your limit. I'd love to make these for my room, in pretty much the same colour and with a dog, or cat. (Or something else, haha)
Cute huh? Now, this one was posted my wilma, with a tutorial on how to make the lamp yourself. Check it out if you want to make one. Anyhow, I don't really fancy a owl for my room at my parents. I do however, want think it'd be possible to add a globe instead of an owl. Yes? It's still only an idea, but I think I'll give it a try.
Another twist to the owl lamp, why not add some books. I want to make this one for my own apartment.

Take a blank canvas, apply stickers, paint over with white, remove the stickers and hang on the wall with lights behind it. Pretty right? I have two ideas with this one. Either, it will be in my sister's room with flowers. Pretty much as you see on the picture, or I will do it with the shape of the world for my room at my parents. Either way, It's pretty and gives some amazing light, without being in your face.

You can't sew, and still want some pretty pillows, here is the solution. Easy peasy right?

Use old branches as curtain rods, yes. I am considering using this idea and hang them around the bed to make a poster bed. Is that what they are called? I mean something like this:
also, you can hang them from on the wall and make shelves.
Do you like some of these DIYs? Which one is your favourite?
